1964 – GIORGIO’S CONTINENTAL LTD ESTABLISHED
Giorgio’s Continental Ltd. was established by Giorgio and Anna Tudino in 1964 supplying quality authentic Italian and continental food products to various food businesses.
1966 – FIRST STORE OPENING
Giorgio’s Continental Store opened in Sneinton, Nottingham allowing the local community access to Italian and continental food products. Anna managed the store whilst Giorgio served local businesses with products.
1989 – TRANSITION TO HUCKNALL WAREHOUSE
Following growth there was a transition to the warehouse facility in Hucknall, Nottingham where the company began its wholesale business.
1999 – RELOCATION TO NEWTHORPE
Following year on year growth since the business was established, the Company relocated from to its current location at Newthorpe in 1999. This was built to the Company’s own design, including three dedicated food processing units for Cheese, Meats and Alcohols, Oil and Vinegars.
2008 – PASTAFICIO INVESTMENT
Investment in Pastaficio Limited has expanded GCL’s product portfolio further to allow for the production and cooking of noodles, filled, fresh and dried pasta.
2014 – PASTAFICIO INTEGRATION
October 2014 saw Pastaficio move adjacent to the Giorgio’s site, producing a range of pasta’s and facilitating cooked, quench, chilled products. Pastaficio has since become integrated into the GCL group has developed into serving both Foodservice and Industrial customers.
2015 – INVESTMENT INTO PURPOSE BUILT FACILITY
Further investment has seen a purpose built Meatballs and Sausage production and cooking facility instilled into our factory catering for both Food service and Industrials customers.
