At the heart of our philosophy is our desire to collaborate with as many up and coming chefs and artisan food producers to develop and create great food solutions whilst staying true to our roots which have been perfected over generations.

Here are our food heroes- the foodie masters – who define the brilliant food GCL has become renowned for.

Pep – Master of All Things Meat

Pep believes the world just wouldn’t be the same without a bit of hardy protein! Pep began his career as a mechanic, after a fortunate early retirement, Pep discovered a hidden talent for revitalising the humble British sausage.

His journey with GCL started 10 years ago after discussions about introducing bespoke meat product to GCL’s portfolio with his school friend Tony, a managing director of GCL. After several trip to Italy and countless rounds of development factory two was established, a state-of-the-art meat plant facility which today Pep manages for us to create meat products of distinction!

Together we combine prime cuts of meat, fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables to ensure our sausages and meatballs are bang on.

Daniel West – NPD Kitchen Manager

Dan brings an impressive 18 years of bakery industry experience to the table. Before joining us at GCL, Dan honed his craft as a bakery manager for over four years, where he mastered the art of baking and management.

From the moment Dan joined our team as an NPD assistant, he quickly showcased his exceptional talents, especially in the realm of fresh pasta. His dedication and innovative approach have been truly transformative. Just three years later, Dan now leads our NPD department with a passion for handcrafting fresh pasta, creating unique and mouth-watering dishes that we enjoy in the high-street.
